Description

This is a lovely renovated two bedroom townhouse which is in a quiet area of Cadiar, it has the potential to become a large family home or possibly a rental business.  The property, renovated to a high standard by the owner, retains many traditional features. Cadiar is a bustling small town with many amenities including shops, bars, restaurants, banks, schools, health centre etc.

The house is located in a quiet part of town, not far from the centre. It has the bonus of having a small plot of land and a garage very close to the property.

The main entrance has double doors and leads into a welcoming entrance hall with a large storeroom to the left and an alcove containing a washing machine to the right. Terracotta tiled stairs lead up to the characterful first floor landing. From here is accessed the dining room and the living room. The dining room has wonderful wooden beams and space for a dining suite and side furniture. Through an arch and down a couple of steps is the Alpujarran style kitchen, featuring wooden fronted cupboards, a double porcelain sink and tiled work surfaces.

To the left is a cosy living room with a traditional wood burner, a great place to relax on chilly winter nights. There are superb views of the surrounding mountains through the window at the rear of the room. Because of the thickness of the walls, this is also a cool room in the hot summer months. A door leads through to a small hall with a bedroom and the bathroom off. The spacious double bedroom has freestanding furniture and a built-in wardrobe. The bathroom features a slate topped vanity unit with a traditional ceramic washbasin and a bathtub with shower over.

The second floor has two large open rooms, one with plumbing installed and a traditional stone sink. There is also a large double bedroom with freestanding furniture. Also on this level, to the front of the property is a good size covered terrace and to the rear a smaller open terrace with great views.

To one side of the house is a covered walkway, with a door to access the basement of the property. This large un-renovated area could be converted to give extra living space or possibly a separate apartment. Within a few metres to the rear of the property is a small parcel of land with a garage offering parking. The property is connected to mains services.

If you don’t know this area well, why not take a look at our exposure guide on the Alpujarras in the Area Guide section above (next to Overview).
